RT: The Dutch will “pay the price” for its “shameless” treatment of Turkey’s minister, President Recep Tayip Erdogan said in a strongly-worded statement. He also urged international organizations to put sanctions on the Netherlands.
“If you are willing to sacrifice Turkish-Dutch relations, you will pay for it,” Erdogan said on Sunday, as cited by Hurriyet. “What’s more, we’re not done yet,” the Turkish leader added.
The Dutch embassy and consulate in Ankara and Istanbul have been closed off for security reasons, according to Reuters citing Turkish foreign ministry sources.
The residences of the Dutch ambassador, charge d’affaires and consul general were also closed off, according to the same source.
